French Countryside
Lavender fields, small villages devoted to the cultivation of aromatic herbs, open skies, a blue/teal Mediterranean, and a people that take life at a more leisurely pace. Our French Countryside is an attitude, a state of mind, and above all, an approach to living that embraces an appreciation for the beauty and simplicity of nature. Rustic accessories, the texture of clays and terracotta, organic fibers, and of course, food, used as a decorative element as well as sustenance..

Oh, very fun. This 24” braid of natural raffia has 12 large, 3” x 4” golden onions worked into it. We like to swag this across a window top, from a pot rack or combine it with some of our other Onion or Garlic Braids for a VERY French Countryside kitchen look. Click on our Faux Food And Frivolities Type to see our great fake food!

Woven of strong Abaca Twine, this 9” x 12” basket looks great hanging on a wall hook to hold magazines, knitting supplies, or, even a BIG cache of potpourri!

This is so adorable! Made of the extremely aromatic Morus root, this is a delight to simply hang up in any corner of a room and let the sandalwood-like fragrance scent the room. 9” x 11-1/2”

We just love this look! Our 14-1/2” x 15-1/4” mesh chicken sits demurely on your kitchen counter and imparts a very country kitchen air to any decor. We like to fill her up with our Speckled Eggs.

What could be more French than warm croissants tucked into a linen napkin and nestled in our 9-1/2” x 3-1/2” x 6-3/4” “Breakfast” Basket. Made of natural abaca over a strong wire base with two side handles.

When a French lady goes to market, she doesn’t expect to be asked “paper or plastic”? Being far more practical, she take along her own shopping bag. We do a number of different types of “going to market” bags, but this 17” x 23” one is a favorite. Made of strong Pandan fiber, it is practical and good looking. (a desirable quality in bags or people).

Natural jute has been bleached to this pale vanilla color, then hand tied into this 21” x 30” door mat. Use these to create a casual look by using them in front of a fireplace, at a side entry door, or even for your favorite furry companion. (Cricket, our Yorkie, knows that hers is right next to my desk). Finished with self-fringe.

This is one of the most dramatic ways that we have to introduce a natural, yet highly decorative look into your room. This elegant 64” garland is made from a variety of different grasses and grains, and it looks fabulous hung in a corner, draped over a doorway or across the top of a window.

Fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden and fresh fish from the daily market - the essence of the French Countryside look. Our large Silverside, 17” is only one of our “school” of “Daily Catch” Fake Fish. We love a string of them hanging absolutely ANYPLACE! Be sure to check out the entire collection at Fake Fish And Fishy Stuff.

IVery handsome, this is a great piece to use as a starting point for a country table setting. The 19” x 72” runner will give you a rustic, yet crisp, clean look. Be sure to check out the companion pieces, our 9” x 72” “Coco Twig” Buffet Runner and our 13” x 17” “Coco Twig” Placemats.

Well, yea, we know this is Tuscan, but the dividing line between the lifestyles of northern Italy and southern France is very nebulous. We think this look is ideal with the whole European country style! Our Tuscan Cloth is available in four different patterns, two sizes of tablecloths and also as 62” wide fabric, ready to be turned into anything you might imagine!
