1. |
Distress Metallic Tissue Paper by gently
wadding and wrinkling, then straighten
back out and tear into pieces,
tearing all straight edges off. |
|
2. |
Make
your "glueter" by mixing white,
water soluble glue with water
(about 60-70% glue). |
|
3. |
Dip the
pieces of Metallic Tissue into
the "glueter" and start applying
the pieces onto the Raw Goods
Vase, overlapping edges and working
all edges down flat. |
|
4. |
Allow
vase to dry overnight. |
|
5. |
Apply
small spots of slightly watered
down black paint onto your vase,
and work the paint into the creases
and crackles on the vase surface.
Continue doing this until you
have the degree of "aging" that
you want, being sure to keep the
darkening irregular over the surface. |
|
6. |
Using
your paint brush , dab bits of
different colors onto the vase,
then dip paintbrush in clear water
and add to the paint dabs, allowing
the colors to run and mix. |
|
7. |
Allow
to dry. A sealant can be applied
if desired. These come in matte,
satin, semi gloss and high gloss
finishes. |
|
8. |
Enjoy! |

1. |
When
working toward the bottom of
the vase, set it up on a jar
or something that is
stable, but has a narrower base
that the vase. |
|
2. |
Left
over "glueter" can be poured
into a jar to be used again
later. |
|
3. |
A mist
bottle is handy to use while
your paint is still wet to help
create runs and drips. |
