Jungle Placemats
Wonderful, airy placemats, and just in
time for those summer patio dinners! Made with our strong and
tough Savannah Cloth, they are trimmed with our Wild Things Project
Papers, creating a fun, jungle look. Kit includes enough material
to make a set of four placemats.

1. |
Cut four
pieces of Savannah Cloth
16" x 19" (one yard makes four mats) |
|
2. |
Lightly
dampen and distress (wrinkle) the
Wild Things PROJECT PAPER.
Hand press paper flat (can use warm
iron also). Cut two strips 2-1/2"
x 19" and two strips 2-1/2" x 16".
Cut the same thing out of the fusible
webbing. |
| 3. |
Iron
textured side of fusible webbing
to wrong side of Wild Things
PROJECT PAPER strips. Fold strips
down the center lengthwise, webbing
sides together. Holding all four
folded strips together, "miter"
(diagonal) cut all corners. If you
cut them all at once they should
fit together. |
| 4. |
Iron
the strips to edges of Savannah
Cloth, matching corners. |
| 5. |
Mats
can be sprayed with a protective
sealer if so desired. |
| 6. |
ENJOY!!! |

You can
add a spray coat of protective
covering (like Scotchguard) to
help protect the surface, or,
if you really want to make these
long lasting, there is stuff on
the market (usually found at fabric
or craft stores) that you can
iron on for a transparent and
permanent sealed surface. |
